Dropbucket is one payment for the smallest plan with enough seats, plus storage. iDrive e2 yearly plan: $59.50 per TB a year, half price in the first year, in plan sizes of 1, 2, 5, 10 TB and up (idrive.com/s3-storage-e2/pricing).
Storage is the part that grows. Files stay in your bucket until you delete them, so a lifecycle rule that clears old deliveries keeps the bill small. Prices in US dollars.

We make video and digital work at 38South Digital. We were paying monthly for transfer tools that kept our clients' files on someone else's servers and put someone else's logo on our deliveries, while cheap storage sat in our own bucket. Dropbucket is the tool we wanted: our brand, our storage, one payment.

Questions, answered
Do I need my own storage bucket?
Yes, that is the point. Dropbucket connects to a bucket you own on Cloudflare R2, Backblaze B2, Wasabi, Amazon S3, iDrive e2 or DigitalOcean Spaces. If you don't have one yet, we recommend iDrive e2: 1 TB is US$29.75 for the first year (referral link on this page). Our setup guides walk you through each provider.
What will storage cost me?
That's between you and your provider, and you only pay for what you keep. Cloudflare R2 lists $0.015 per GB a month with no download fees, so 500 GB kept for a month is about $7.35. Dropbucket never adds a per-GB charge.
Do my files pass through Dropbucket?
No. Uploads go from the browser straight into your bucket and downloads come straight from it. We store what we need to run your links: file names and sizes, link settings, and the names and emails of people you send to or who upload to you.
Do my clients need an account?
No. Recipients open a branded link, and clients uploading through a request link don't need an account either.
How big can files be?
Up to 5 TB per file, which is the S3 limit. Uploads go up in parts and pick up where they left off after a dropped connection. If the page was closed, choose the same file again and it continues from the last finished part.
What happens when a link expires?
The link stops working. The files stay in your bucket until you delete them, so nothing disappears without you deciding. Most providers let you add a lifecycle rule to clear old deliveries automatically.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, on Solo and up: one domain on Solo, three on Studio and ten on Agency. You add a CNAME record and we handle the HTTPS certificate.
What happens to my files if Dropbucket closes?
They are plain files in your bucket, so they stay yours. You can open them with any S3 tool and export your account data at any time.
Will the price go up?
Yes. These are launch prices for early customers. After launch, Solo goes to $59, Studio to $129 and Agency to $249. If you buy now, you keep your plan at the price you paid, with no renewals.
Is there a free plan?
Yes. Free gives you 1 brand, 1 user and 10 live links that last up to 7 days, with a small Dropbucket badge. No card needed.
